The browser has been designed specifically for organizations that require standardized deployment and safe management. It offers many network management features but strips others that serve no purpose.
How is Chrome different from Chrome for Business? The main difference is that with Chrome for Business, you can create your own installer with pre-loaded extensions. You can even customize your install with policies. Apart from that, you can specify the browser upon update not to break things for all your employees.
Chrome for Business Installation and setup
The visible difference you may find at the time of Chrome for business installation is that instead of a normal .exe download, Google Chrome for Business comes as an .msi installer that contains the whole program, allowing you to install offline.
Once you install Chrome for Business on your users' computers, it's time to configure Chrome preferences and policies.
Preferences are user settings that configure an individual instance of Chrome, while policies are administrator settings that configure multiple Chrome instances and override any conflicting user preferences. So,
- Configure preferences to establish default Chrome settings that you want to let users modify.
- Configure policies to control Chrome settings that you don't want to let users modify or change. Later, test your installation.
