How to export and import Calendars in Windows Live Hotmail

In this article we will see how to export Calendars in Windows Live Hotmail which can be later imported as required in other applications. I will also touch upon how to subscribe to, or import calendars.

Sign-in to Hotmail Calendar (You can sign-in to Hotmail and from there you can access Calendar or directly sign-in to it). Here, click on 'Share' and select the Calendar you want to export.

And if its not yet shared, select 'Share this calendar' and then select the 'Send people a view-only link to your calendar' check box and click on 'Get your calendar links'.

Click OK on the 'Sharing Confirmation' dialog box .

Now the page will refresh with clickable links appearing. Click on the 'ICS: Import into another calendar application' link - or whichever your requirement is, as it also provides HTML or RSS options apart from the ICS option.

You will see a ICS link box with the required URL. Copy it. Paste it into URL box of the browser and replace “webcal://” in the beginning of the URL with “http://” from the link before running the URL

Now the browser will download your Calendar's ICS as a .ics file which can then be sent to others who can import it into other supported applications like Gmail or Outlook.

If you want to add a calendar in Windows Live Hotmail, Click on Subscribe. There are two ways to do it:

Hope it helps!
