Lenovo ThinkPad Helix, heralds a new birth!

With Lenovo people always expect quality innovation. This time innovators at Lenovo have gone far beyond expectations and have delivered a convertible, a 20 mm ThinkPad Ultrabook with 10 hrs battery life (6 hrs without stand and 4 more hours with the stand) that is not only fairly significant, but also nowhere close to the tablets (attachable keyboard). This time they have outdone not only the other names in the market, but also themselves.

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix specs

With a fast and fluid Windows 8 and a 1920 x 1080 pixel screen that allows for pen input, Lenovo offers some well-built options as a third-generation 17 watt of full Core i7 chip, 8GB of memory, and a 256GB solid-state drive. To add to it, it can boast of a “Rip and flip” detachable keyboard. Lenovo Helix has a Cool tablet and Stand mode (simply dock it backward on the enhanced keyboard) with a bi-directional hinge, two sub-modes in each. The four modes make it four times as much powerful.  Its full 11.6, 1080PHD, 400 nit bright display with a gorilla glass accommodates truer, fuller colors and clear viewing.

The convertible Windows 8 laptop provides top class security and manageability. What commonly happens in other tablets is that even though the processor can utilize the power up to 17 watt it runs normally only up to 9 watt due to the device thermal issues and hence wouldn't score on full capacity. The Helix, however is so designed that the coolants have an inward passageway allowing total utilization, meaning money well spent. And the entire gut of the Ultrabook is held behind the screen, designed so as to enable greater processor performance.

The Lenovo Helix has three modes of input:

The Dual cameras: 2.1MP front-facing webcam enables crystal-clear video conferencing; 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash and 30fps video recording. Another key feature is Dolby® Home Theater® v4 and dual stereo speakers

The Lenovo Helix moves a level higher in making digitizing easier for the users. It's a classy, carefully constructed piece with careful attention to detail. It's a beauty, in terms of its specifications, considering that it is one of the best Windows 8 hybrid designs available in the market out there. This latest innovation from Lenovo is priced at $1,499.

It is of course pricey, but definitely worth every penny.

Lenovo ThinkPad Helix is expected to ship early March 2013.
