Open With Enhanced An advanced free replacement for your Windows Open With menu

The Open With dialog box in Windows right-click context menu lets a user specify the directory, name of the file or files to open. Despite being such an indispensable tool, it lacks many enhancement features that can make it more user-friendly. Also, there may be a case where Windows may fail to display a suitable application for the file/files to open.

Open With Enhanced is a freeware that replaces the original Windows Open with dialog box by a more comprehensive, improved and easy-to-use dialog box.

This new freeware suggest many popular applications that successfully open a particular file type. The list of the applications provided by it is based on a constantly -updated database, automatically downloaded from the web. Open With Enhanced constantly updates metadata base downloaded from web and extends the list of applications displayed by Open With dialog with most popular applications selected by past users.

The freeware provides in-depth information about file associations and gives the option to remove or disable them.

The best part is that if a program is not installed on your computer, it also recommends from the Internet. The freeware displays both, installed and uninstalled applications separately by applying color code to the list that makes it easier to spot difference between the two. The applications marked in red are not found on the system.

If one is interested in installing a suggested application, simply click on the icon of the application to install it instantaneously. This action when executed, provides you with the option to either get redirected to the website of the developer or open the executable file on your local hard drive.
