Windows 10 Phone Calculator app brings rich features

The calculator app in Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 are pretty basic. Microsoft has shipped a new calculator app in Windows 10. The new calculator app is feature rich and is greatly enhanced when compared to its predecessors.  The presence of three different calculator modes and inclusion of sophisticated  converter makes this app stand out.

The new calculator app uses a different design language breaking the modern UI and featuring the famous hamburger menu. Hamburger menu holds various menu items listing various calculator modes - Standard, Scientific and Programmer.

Standard mode

The default mode in Calculator app is “Standard” - which has a very simple, easy-to-use interface which can perform basic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication,division,percentage,square root calculation, power etc. The standard calculator mode also comes with various memory operations like MC, MR, M+, M-, MS. Clicking on the Standard Calculator mode's history button shows all the previous calculations done.

Scientific mode

The Scientific mode in the calculator for Windows 10 for phone tries to dub a full-fledged scientific calculator. Power users can use this to play with complex mathematical operations, solve equations, work with various geometrical and engineering problems and more. The scientific calculator for Windows 10 sports operators and functionalities to find log of a number, exponential power, mod, factorial, sin, cos, tan and other operators which you commonly find in any physical scientific calculator.

Programmer mode

The programmer mode present in the Windows 10 calculator helps programmers and coders in a great way. Converting numbers from Hexa to Binary, Binary to Hexa, Octa to Binary, Hexa to Octa, Decimal to Hexa and similar viceversa operations can be carried out with ease in this mode. This mode also lets one to perform logical operations like Left shift, Right shift,OR, XOR, NOT, And etc.
